Can had previous experience of Klopp's methods before the German took over at Liverpool last month. 

Although he did not play under him, Can says that the intensity in which Borussia Dortmund played under him made them a very tough team to play against.

Liverpool fans will be hoping Anfield will be the venue for a similarly successful style of play in the coming months.

Can, who was undefeated against Klopp in Germany despite being impressed by Dortmund's mentality, believes his passion runs through to the players.

He told the Mail on Sunday: "I didn’t know him personally but obviously I saw him at work. As you can see, he is very emotional on the sidelines, it is why he is successful." 

Klopp's 'Gegenpressing' regime has not yet been fully incorporated into the Liverpool team - due to the frequency of fixtures.

Can said: "It is a case of us not having had much time to train because there have been so many games. It has been similar training to the previous trainer [Brendan Rodgers]."

Can, 22, is not your average young adult due to his life at Liverpool.

The German international rarely heads out to pubs and clubs, but instead enjoys spending time at his Formby home with friends and family.

He explained: "It’s difficult to go out when there is a match every third day. There isn’t that much time, it’s either preparation or recovery, and I would rather spend my time with friends at home."
