Agen MaxbeT  ~   Antonio Conte could be confirmed as Chelsea’s next manager as early as next month.

The Italy coach , whose contract expires after this summer’s European Championship, is understood to have agreed a deal in principle to take over on a full-time basis at Stamford Bridge.

Mirror Sport revealed last week that Chelsea had stepped up their interest in the 46-year-old who in turn wants to take Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan from Serie A to the Premier League with him.

Chelsea had been keen on Juventus coach Max Allegri but the Italian champions, on course for a second successive title under the 48-year-old, refused to allow him to leave the club.

Blues midfielder John Obi Mikel revealed that the club’s players would prefer Guus Hiddink to be the long-term successor to Jose Mourinho .

Hiddink, however, has already made it clear that he will vacate his post at the end of the season. His connection after that point will be in an advisory role only to Roman Abramovich.

Conte has been learning English in advance to a move to west London and is already understood to have held productive talks with the Premier League champions.
