Judi Online - Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho was named the club's Player of the Year, as he completed a clean sweep at the Reds' awards night.
The
Brazilian maestro also landed the Players' Player of the Year,
Performance of the Year and Goal of the Year prizes, as he took home
every prize for which he was eligible.
Manager Brendan Rodgers
admitted it had been a difficult year for his side, who will finish
outside of the Champions League places, while wantaway star Raheem
Sterling was booed by members of the audience when he landed the club's Young Player of the Year award.
But
it was a night where Coutinho's rich promise was celebrated, and
suggested that the biggest starlet currently at Anfield is not the
England international looking to move on.
Certainly, that was outgoing Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard's take on things, as he declared Coutinho "the next big thing"
"I'm a bit bored making all these speeches, so I want to pay tribute
to Philippe," said Gerrard, who picked up an Outstanding Achievement
award.
"This is his night.
"He cleaned up all the awards
and deservedly so. He's the next big thing for me. I hope he stays for a
long time and helps us win some more trophies."
Coutinho, shortlisted for the PFA Player of the Year award, was
recognised for a superb season as he claimed a quartet of awards at the
ECHO Arena ceremony.
Bandar Bola - The 22-year-old won both the club's Player
of the Year and Players' Player prize, while his 30-yard thumper against
Southampton in January was named Goal of the Year.
The Brazil international also took the Performance of the Year, for his dazzling display in the 2-1 win over Manchester City on March 1.
Liverpool
vice-captain Jordan Henderson declared: "I voted for Philippe [for the
Player of the Year award]. He's been fantastic all season and produced
magical moments."
Raheem Sterling, the England international, was booed by fans at the ceremony, when he picked up the Young Player of the Year award.
Sterling is set for crunch talks with the club this week, having told Rodgers of his desire to leave the club, for which he has been heavily criticised by a number of club legends, including John Barnes, Phil Thompson and Jamie Carragher.
He made a short acceptance speech, and there were shouts of 'Stay
Raheem' but as he finished speaking and left the stage there were
audible boos from some of the 3,000 fans in attendance.
There were further jeers when his name was mentioned in a video montage moments later.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers,
who has seen his side struggle for consistency just 12 months after
going within touching distance of a 19th English title, believes that
his side will be better for the difficulties they have faced this
season.
"Expectancy from last season was going to be high. Things
that have happened, the distractions, you can't plan for them," he
said. "It has been a difficult, trying season but the players will all
be better for it next year.
"The players need a rest [but] the
club will continue to work hard to improve the squad and next year
provides another great opportunity for us like last season.
