Northern Ireland health minister resigns after video showed him linking gay marriage to child abuse

Judi Online -  A health minister who caused outrage when he was filmed linking gay marriage to child abuse has resigned.

Northern Ireland's Jim Wells told an election debate: "The facts show that when brought up in a homosexual relationship a child is far more likely to be abused and neglected."

The Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) senior member was drowned out by cries of 'rubbish' and 'you should be ashamed' and faced calls to resign last week.

Police said they were investigating his comments after receiving a complaint.

Now he has revealed he will step down - but insists it is to care for his wife Grace, who has had two strokes and major heart surgery.

"My focus will be on Grace and supporting my family," he said.

"The events of the last week have taken place against the backdrop of a difficult period.

"On the issue of comments I have made which have attracted significant publicity, I have already said sorry for the offence caused and acknowledged that the comments were factually inaccurate.

"At no time did I set out to hurt or offend anyone and it has upset me greatly that the comments made have caused distress to some within our community.

"I am deeply saddened that some of those who represent a different viewpoint from me have attacked my family and me in a deeply personal, nasty and in some cases threatening way.

"Some of the outbursts on social media have been particularly abusive and menacing in nature."
The statement today comes hours after Mr Wells had a doorstep showdown with the daughter of a lesbian voter who has now abandoned the DUP.

Police ended up being called after the incident yesterday in Rathfriland, County Down.
Mr Wells said his resignation as health minister will take effect from May 11.

Bandar Bola -  He will remain a member of the Northern Ireland Assembly, which isn't holding an election until May next year.

The handful of DUP MPs at Westminster could be key to David Cameron holding on to power, if they agree a pact after the election.

That's despite the party wanting to bring in laws that allow anti-gay discrimination.

The prime minister faced anger from teenagers in BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge after saying he disagrees with the DUP on gay rights but failing to rule out a post-election deal.

Last year David Cameron hosted " a lavish reception " in Downing Street in their honour.

In his apology last week Mr Wells told Belfast Live : “I had just come from a hospital visit and my focus was not on the debate.

“Indeed, during the event I received several messages from the hospital.
“The comment did not reflect my view nor that of my party.

“Within seconds of realising this error, I asked the chairman to let me back in and twice corrected my remarks before the debate moved on.

“This clarification has been confirmed by the journalists present at the event. Partial clips, spin and selective reporting regrettably miss this."

Liverpool resurrect interest in Schalke defender Kyriakos Papadopoulos

Kampusbet - Liverpool resurrect interest in Schalke defender Kyriakos Papadopoulos

Judi Online -  Brendan Rodgers has resurrected his interest in bringing target Kyriakos Papadopoulos to Liverpool.

The Greek defender has been on Rodgers’ radar for a couple of seasons but the time is now right for the Reds boss to strike.

Papadopoulos, 23, has been on loan at Bayer Leverkusen this season as he continues his rehabilitation following a lengthy lay-off with a knee injury.

He has been loaned out by Schalke but has no intention of returning to the club and is seeking pastures new.

Bandar Bola -  Rodgers has scouted the Greece international extensively during the past few seasons and he is now out of contract.

The player’s agents have been in touch with Liverpool this week to see whether Rodgers maintains his interest.

And with the Merseysiders failing so far to sort out their issues at the back, a high-quality addition on a Bosman is just what the club’s boss needs this summer.

Burnley 0-1 Leicester

Premier League - Minute of madness costs Burnley as Leicester win again

Agen Bola SBOBET - Leicester City climbed out of the bottom three as they defeated relegation rivals Burnley 1-0 in an attritional battle at Turf Moor, the game turning on one dramatic second-half minute.

Matt Taylor, making his first start since August, won a penalty for the home side and took it himself but he could only strike the outside of the post with Kapser Schmeichel beaten.

City promptly broke down the other end and when Marc Albrighton swung in a cross Michael Duff deflected the ball goalwards and despite Tom Heaton's best efforts, Jamie Vardy was on hand to force home what proved the matchwinner (60).

The scoreline meant Leicester won four successive top flight matches for the first time since October 1966 and, after 140 days at the bottom of the table before last week's win over Swansea, they are now clear of the drop zone by a single point, something not seen since November 17.

For Burnley the wait for a goal goes on as another blank means they are one minute short of eight hours since they last scored on 14 March.

That win over defending champions Manchester City now seems a long time ago as they have taken
just one point from five matches and are now five points from safety.

Burnley had been dealt a blow before kick-off when striker Sam Vokes was ruled out by injury, handing Lukas Jutkiewicz his first Premier League start in six months.

The 26-year-old had more yellow cards (one) than goals in 25 previous Premier League appearances this season so it is safe to assume the Clarets were not pinning their hopes on any survival miracles from him.

Danny Ings saw an early shot blocked by Wes Morgan and the best other chance of the error-strewn first half dropped to Taylor but Schmeichel was equal to his close-range flick.

How pivotal the 90 seconds around the hour mark were may not yet be know but there was no doubt in the minds of the visiting supporters, who celebrated wildly after going ahead.

Judi Online - Taylor had been brought down by Paul Konchesky when Schmeichel parried a shot from Ings after the Burnley striker had jinked one way and then the other to create an opening.

Taylor, whose last goal was against the Clarets for West Ham in the Capital One Cup in October 2013, picked himself up to take the most pressurised of spot-kicks but - having sent Schmeichel the wrong way - he could only watch in despair as the ball hit the outside of the post and flew behind.

To add potential catastrophic injury to that insult, Leicester went straight down the other end where Marc Albrighton's cross cannoned goalwards off Duff for Vardy to pounce on the goal line.

Burnley had one real chance to salvage a point but Schmeichel produced a fine reaction save after Robert Huth inadvertently turned Ben Mee's cross goalwards.

Survival often hangs on fine margins and Leicester's latest victory could yet yield far greater reward.
Phil Thompson's Soccer Saturday verdict

Both teams did lack that quality today, both teams were launching it. It's paracetamol all round because there were so many headers! It is just great drama, though. The three centre backs for Leicester – Wasilewski, Huth and Morgan – were absolutely fantastic. Four great victories for Leicester City; they weren’t as good as they were last week but they put in a shift.

Kartini Day in The Eyes of 'Putri Indonesia

Kampusbet - Kartini Day in The Eyes of 'Putri Indonesia 2015'

Judi Online - Indonesia is currently hosting the 60th Asia- Africa Conference Commemoration. Especially for today (21/4/2015), the nation also rejoices the celebration of Kartini day. Kartini has been widely known as national hero who is hitherto adored by many women for her unwavering ambition to fight for women emancipation, in what seems to be an orthodox atmosphere during her era.

Thus, today’s commemoration will not only focus on the gatherings of Indonesia’s representatives with foreign delegations but also the remembrance of Kartini. Inside the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Senayan, many Indonesian women have resorted to wearing the traditional ‘kebaya’ outfit similar to the one being worn by Kartini in the past. Indonesian women spirit in the venue is already apparent with many walking by in her beautifully modernized ‘kebaya’.

As the Kartini day representative during the third day of Asia- Africa Conference Commemoration, the winner of  2015 ‘Putri Indonesia’, Anindya Kusuma has taken the time to pay a visit to the venue. With her elegantly clothed in red ‘kebaya’, her presence is deemed important as to show participating foreign delegations the Indonesian culture, tradition and acknowledgment for women’s rights.

“This year’s Kartini day is as exciting as the ones we had in previous years. I see it as a reminder for us women to continue strive for our emancipation in honor of the national hero, Ibu Kartini,” Anindya shared to Kampusbet.com at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Senayan, Tuesday (21/4/2015).
Bandar Bola - When asked about the ‘kebaya’ dress she was wearing, Anindya claimed that it is a strong representation to Indonesia’s culture and many foreign delegations who came across her have expressed their curiosity and interest towards her ‘kebaya’. Among those who are interested, one of them was Jordan.

“Yes, Jordanian delegations came up to me and asked me about my ‘kebaya’ and they were evidently fascinated by our traditional outfit,” she added.

“I have seen many Indonesian women in the building who wear kebaya,” she continued explaining.

It is the right opportunity for Indonesia to show its tradition and culture precisely on the day where the 60th Asia- Africa Conference is being held. Anindya views her presence and outfit as a symbol to the nation’s culture in front of foreign delegations from various countries.

“This could raise foreign delegations awareness about Kartini Day and the traditional outfit,” she further explained.

Through this presentation, Indonesian women will not only be seen as elegant individuals with princess- like attributes, but also strong, intelligent and capable human beings who can contribute to this nation’s success just as much as men population.
